September Visitors by David Budbill

September Visitors

I'm glad to see our friends come:
talk, laughter, food, wine.
I'm glad to see our friends go:
solitude, emptiness, gardens,
autumn wind.

What appears to be gray type on a black background makes the poem unreadable. In fact, any color type on a black background is a bad idea - it can make for a nice visual effect but tends toward illegibility.

Sorry about that...somehow I never saw your comment. I just fixed it. I had copied it from the original source. Sorry! I could read it just fine, so I didn't know anybody else had trouble with it.
